Elite Retail Leasing was founded in Melbourne in 2022, after more than a decade spent on the landlord side of Australia’s retail leasing market. Demi had worked with some of the country’s most prominent retail landlords, managing the leasing and performance uplift of complex and challenging retail assets — the sort of centres where a tenancy mix has to be rebuilt rather than simply filled.
That experience produced a clear observation: retailers were consistently the least well-advised party in the room. Landlords negotiate leases constantly and have specialists to do it. Most retailers negotiate a lease once every five years, against someone who does it every week.
Elite Retail Leasing exists to close that gap. We act for retail tenants only, and we bring the landlord-side knowledge with us.
A leasing agent is engaged and paid by a landlord. Their job is to fill tenancies on the landlord’s terms. There is nothing wrong with that — it just means the tenant needs someone of their own.
Retail opportunities do not wait. Offers lapse, option dates fall due, sites get taken. Advice that arrives three weeks late is not advice. We work at the pace the deal actually requires.
We negotiate hard, but we negotiate with landlords and centre owners we will be dealing with again next month. Protecting that relationship is part of protecting our clients’ long-term position.
